What is an DOT exam?
At Knight IV Hydration & Wellness, Jonathan Knight APRN,FNP-C offers DOT physical exams to help our local drivers stay healthy and compliant on the road. This required exam ensures that commercial vehicle operators meet federal safety and medical standards. Our certified medical examiner provides a comfortable, convenient experience while checking key health areas, including vision, hearing, blood pressure, and overall fitness. Whether you’re a CDL holder, truck driver, bus driver, or part of a company fleet, we’re here to help you meet your DOT requirements and get back to doing what you do best, keeping our community moving.
The exam process.
Once you have provided your medical history, our medical examiner will review the information you provided, go over any medical conditions, medications you may have, and perform a basic urinalysis test. As part of the exam, he will also:
- Measure Your Height
- Weigh You
- Simple Urine Analysis
- Take Your Blood Pressure and Pulse
- Evaluate Your Range of Motion
- Examine Your Eyes and Ears
- Check Your Breathing
Exam Day: What to bring.
On the exam day, you must bring all of this with you. Here is a checklist of things you should bring (where applicable):
- Photo identification
- Medical records
- List of medications, including strength and dosage, for both prescription and over-the-counter drugs
- Eyeglasses
- Hearing Aids
- Copy of your most recent stress test (for heart conditions).
- Copy of your latest sleep test result (for sleep apnea).
- Contact information, including all your doctors' names, phone numbers, and fax numbers.
Right before your exam: Make sure you drink a glass of water and come in with a full bladder, as you must provide a urine sample.
